Peter Frederiksen is an embroidery artist living and working in Chicago. He found his way into fibers while studying painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and his current practice involves freemotion machine embroideries inspired by post-war Warner Brothers cartoons. “Using familiar imagery, I like to examine fear, panic, toxic masculinity, anxiety, anticipation, and humor, all through the lens of the shared visual language of Looney Tunes cartoons,” he explains. Frederiksen’s work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with recent shows in New York, London, and Berlin.
