Louis Reith
b. 1983, Hengelo, NL; Lives and works in Zetten, NL
Louis Reith constructs shaped wooden panels to which he applies soil in a staining process that results in a highly contrasting geometric composition. These works balance the mechanical and the natural, the figurative and the abstract while addressing the unique relationship between architecture and nature. For the artist's works on paper, he sources vintage printed material and typographic forms to achieve a sharp, stylized approach to collage.
Reith received his BA from the AKI Academy for Art & Design in Enschede, NL
